Private Massage Sessions
A massage with Carrie is a customized escape from stress, pain and discomfort. Carrie is presently offering private massage sessions in a variety of styles:
Neuromuscular
This therapy is a very effective technique for the treatment of lower back pain. This style is especially suited for back pain caused by soft tissue injury, or for those suffering muscle spasms. During a neuromuscular massage, deep pressure is applied to specific areas of the body where muscles spasms occur, thereby alleviating muscle pain.
Deep Tissue
This style focuses on the deep layers of muscle tissue. Through pressure and massage, the chronic tension in the body is released. Deep tissue helps to eliminate scar tissue. Aside from loosening the muscle tissue, deep tissue massage also releases toxins from the muscles and gets the blood and oxygen flowing properly. This technique is especially popular with athletes who suffer intense muscle strain.
Traction
Traction therapy is for those suffering from cervical or lumbar spine issues. This technique stretches the neck and lumbar region, widens intervertebral spaces and releases tightened muscles. No machinery is used during this therapy.
Movement Therapy
Movement therapy is a unique style. This technique utilizes movement to reduce stress, tap emotion and sensation, improve our relationships with others, enrich our relationship with ourselves, and expand our sense of expression.
Swedish
This therapy involves relieving muscle tension by applying pressure to the deepest muscle and the bones, while massaging in the same direction as the current of blood journeying back to the heart. Swedish massage increases the oxygen and releases the toxins in the muscles. Swedish massage is recommended for those looking to manage stress.
Cranio-sacral
Cranio-sacral therapy is a gentle way to relieve physical tension, mental strain and emotional imbalance. By applying slight pressure to various areas of the body, overall harmony is restored.
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress relief and relaxation as well as healing. Translated as “spiritually guided life force energy,” Reiki deals with the concept of life force energy. During a Reiki session, the therapist does not touch the client, but rather transmits the life force through themselves to the client’s body. The energy then travels to where it’s needed in the client.
Shiatsu
During Shiatsu, the massage therapist uses their palms, fingers, and thumbs to detect ailments in the body, and corrects them using the hands alone. This Japanese technique promotes healing and prevention by strengthening the immune system and enhancing the client’s own natural healing abilities.
Polarity Therapy
This technique works with the human energy field, which is comprised of electromagnetic patterns communicated in our mental, physical and emotional experiences. Health problems arise from imbalances in this field. Through touch and conversation the therapist aids the client in gainer a greater self awareness of their own energy field. This helps to bring the field into its natural state, thereby healing many of the client’s mental, emotional and physical ailments.
